Zone Tax started on August 22, 2026, a few weeks before Wardogs came out. We keep it small. We would rather have 30 people who show up than 300 who don't.
Every match in Wardogs comes down to who holds the zone and who can afford to keep holding it. Hold the Hot Zone, make the other two teams pay to come in, and walk out with the points and the money.
Comms first
Get on the mic. You don't need good callouts. You need to talk. When you do, say a name. Nobody answers "someone revive me".
Play the ledger
Most crews feed kills and go broke doing it. We spend smart, revive, run transport, and hold the Hot Zone where it pays double. We are still buying loadouts when the other two teams are broke.
Rank up by showing up
Everyone starts as an Intern. You become a Collector once we have played with you a bit. Auditors run the day to day. No applications, no tryouts. Rank comes from playing with us.
Voice rooms are named after jobs
Briefing Lobby before and after the match. Air and Logi, Assault, and FOB and Build during it. Sit in the room for the job you are doing. Switch rooms if you switch jobs.
Ping the job you need
Pick your playstyle tags in Discord: Pilot, Logi, Assault, Engineer, Medic, Recon, Armor. Someone who needs air pings Pilot instead of pinging everyone.
Debrief after the match
Five or ten minutes in the Briefing Lobby. What went well, what went poorly, what we work on next game.

Search ZTAX in the in-game server browser. We run our own server so the whole crew can be on the same team. The admin panel lets us sort that out instead of queuing up and hoping we can swap to the same team.
The default mode is being picked by members right now. We will run one mode and not rotate. Servers that run a bit of everything end up empty because nobody knows what they are joining.
The server also hosts training and events. When Wardogs adds a VIP queue, members skip the line when it is full.
- Do I need to be good?
- No. Every skill level. The game just came out and nobody has that many hours in it.
- Do I need a mic?
- Yes. Comms first is rule one. You don't need good callouts, you need to talk.
- Is there a tryout or an application?
- No. Join the Discord, hop in voice, play a few rounds.
- When do you play?
- Most evenings NA time there is a group up. Check squad-up in the Discord and say what you are doing. Scheduled stacks get posted in events.
- Is it really 18+?
- Yes. Adults only, no exceptions.
- How do I wear the tag?
- In Wardogs, go to Settings then Gameplay and set your clan tag to ZTAX. In Discord, go to Profiles then Server Tag and pick ZTAX.
